About me: a decade of building for newsrooms
I'm Pandu Maulana, a web developer from Bogor. For more than ten years I have built the systems that news sites run on.
I'm Pandu Maulana, a web developer and programmer based in Bogor. Most of my work over the past decade has been for news publishers: the sites readers see, and the systems behind them that editors use every day.
Where it started
I started in 2014 as a programmer at Arch Media, building news sites and company profiles with PHP, MySQL, and WordPress. It was practical work: sites that had to load fast, stay up, and be easy for non-technical people to update.
In 2016 I started working on Eventbogor.com, a travel guide for Bogor, as both developer and publisher. Writing and publishing on a site I also maintained taught me something that has shaped my work since: a publisher's problems are rarely only technical. Search traffic, publishing speed, and the time an editor spends on repetitive tasks matter just as much as the code.
Newsrooms
From 2017 to 2019 I was a web developer at Fokus Cyber Media, working on Hallo.id, a business and economy outlet. Since 2020 I have been a programmer at FIN Indonesia, developing and maintaining fin.co.id, and building several applications for disway.id in the same media group. Along the way I have worked on more than thirty sites, including businesstoday.id and indonesiaraya.co.id.
Automation and search
In recent years my focus has moved toward automation and search. Small editorial teams are asked to publish more, on more channels, every day. I have been building tools that take the repetitive parts off their hands:
- PANDU CMS: a multi-tenant news CMS that now runs 39 sites from one admin panel, including this one.
- Automation for Publisher: a service I founded in 2026 that monitors sources, rewrites with AI, and publishes SEO-ready articles to WordPress sites.
- TemplateViral: a tool that turns a viral video link into a branded, ready-to-post Reel.
I work with n8n for workflow automation and keep a close eye on SEO and AEO, since how people find news is changing quickly with AI-driven search.
How I work
I like building things end to end, from the database to the server to the screen an editor actually uses. Most of what I make starts from a concrete problem in a newsroom, and I measure it by one question: does it save people time without lowering the quality of what gets published?
